  1. I am truly impressed by your cover. It sends a great message towards what actually goes on in the book. I happened to choose a book that i haven't read. The one thing i would change is i would make the hands and arms appear to be more a drawling like a pencil filter or something similar through photoshop. The hands being so bright and clearly real compared to the tree and writing in the background. This makes them seem somewhat out of place. I also feel that all my attention goes directly to the hands and i almost don't see the rest of the cover. I really love your take on this cover. I think its way better than the original.

  2. Denise, I love the title of the book you used for your book cover assignment. I read that book a number of years ago and found it riveting. The tree in the background very well depicts where the narrative takes place, in the South. The two hands clasped in the foreground suggest that this is a story about race. I believe that your book cover gives a better idea of what the story is about than the original cover. The colors you used go well together and I like the font you used on the cover. The words on the spine would be easier to read if the words were a little bigger. I think you did a great Job on your book design.

  3. Denise,

I definitely like your cover much better than the original. I find yours really sends a message and for those who have read the book, a great description of the book. This book was one of my favorites that I had read back in high school, which was many, many years ago, but seeing your cover brought back memories of the book :)

  4. Denise,

The cover is really nice, the txt flows pretty nicely with the arched txt on the bottom. One suggestion is to maybe stretch or expand the txt or get a thicker brighter font

  5. I like your cover Denise. I think the colors you used and the style of text give it the look of the time period when the book was originally written (1960). Nice job.

  6. I think the original is easier to read. Be careful of text that is half on and half off a photo. You forgot the author names on the front. There is punctuation marks in front of the name on the spine. And the black hand seems poorly executed. I like the idea of the hands shaking.
